What You'll Need
Free vs. Premium
Session 1 (Orientation) is completely free so you can experience the program firsthand. Premium ($19.99/month) unlocks all 48 sessions across all 8 waves.
The Gateway Program
What is The Gateway Experience?
The Gateway Experience is a structured program of 48 audio sessions across 8 waves, designed to guide you through progressively deeper states of consciousness using binaural beat technology. Each session builds on the last, teaching you specific skills and taking you to deeper focus levels.
Headphones required. An LED headset (photic mode) is recommended for deeper entrainment.
Wave Structure
How Sessions Work
- 1Each session begins with the Gateway Affirmation — a declaration of intent
- 2Resonant Tuning (breathing exercise) raises your energy and focus
- 3The Energy Conversion Box helps you set aside worries before exploring
- 4REBAL (Resonant Energy Balloon) creates a protective energy visualization
- 5The main session guides you to a specific focus level with binaural beats
- 6A guided return brings you back to normal waking consciousness
Progress & Unlocking
Sessions must be completed in order — each builds on skills from the previous one. Completing a session unlocks the next. The program recommends repeating sessions 2-3 times before progressing to build confidence at each level.
Focus Levels
What are Focus Levels?
Focus Levels are specific states of consciousness that you'll learn to access and stabilize throughout the program. Each level represents a deeper state of awareness, achieved through carefully designed binaural beat frequencies.
The Focus Level Map
Building Your Skills
Each focus level is like learning a new skill. You'll start with Focus 10 in Wave I and gradually work your way up. Don't rush — spending time at each level builds the foundation for deeper exploration.
Brainwave Science
How Binaural Beats Work
Binaural beats work by playing slightly different frequencies in each ear through stereo headphones. Your brain perceives a third "beat" at the difference frequency, which gently guides your brainwaves into a desired state. For example, a 200 Hz tone in the left ear and 208 Hz in the right creates a perceived 8 Hz alpha-theta beat.
Stereo headphones are absolutely required for binaural beats to work!
Brainwave Types Used in Gateway
Phase-Continuous Design
Gateway sessions use phase-continuous binaural beat generation with smooth cosine crossfades between frequency phases. This means transitions between brainwave states feel natural and seamless, avoiding jarring frequency jumps that could break your concentration.
Player Controls
During a Session
- 1Play/Pause — start and pause the session audio
- 2Progress bar — shows your position in the session (avoid skipping ahead)
- 3Volume — adjust to a comfortable level
- 4The session will guide you through each phase automatically
Session Tips
LED Headset (Photic Mode)
What is Photic Mode?
Photic Mode adds synchronized light stimulation to your sessions. A compatible Bluetooth LED headset strobes at the exact frequency of the binaural beats, stimulating your visual cortex through closed eyelids. This dual-pathway approach (audio + light) deepens the entrainment effect.
Enable in Account > Advanced. Off by default.
How to Enable
- 1Go to your Account page
- 2Scroll to the "Advanced" section
- 3Toggle "Photic Mode" on
- 4Return to the Player — you'll see a new headset icon in the control bar
Connecting an LED Headset
- 1Power on your LED headset and close any companion apps
- 2In the Player, click the headset icon to scan for nearby devices
- 3Complete the safety screening on first use (seizure/photosensitivity questionnaire)
- 4Select your headset from the scan results
- 5The headset strobes automatically in sync with the session's binaural frequency
Safety
On first use, a medical safety screening based on ILAE epilepsy guidelines is required. If risk factors are identified (seizure history, photosensitivity, etc.), LED activation is blocked and you're advised to consult a healthcare provider.
